Enjoy!<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Pictures from Hell<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Ito Seiyu (1882-1961) has been pushing the envelope of kinbaku and torture Ukiyo-e imagery long before the \u201cGolden Age\u201d of SM magazines, getting some of his better work censored and banned by the authorities, earning him the label of \u201cpervert\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">To help you better appreciate this series, first read the following notes on the kanji characters heading each picture and text:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Wood (\u6728, ki), Fire (\u706b, hi), Earth (\u571f, tsuchi), Metal (\u91d1, kin), and Water (\u6c34, mizu) are the \u201cfive elements\u201d called Wu Xing (\u4e94\u884c) in Chinese. The concepts of Wu Xing can be found anywhere from acupuncture to feng shui (geomancy) to martial arts, and even apply to tea ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">Sun (\u65e5, hi) and Moon (\u6708, tsuki) plus the five Wu Xing elements also correspond to the days of the week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">There goes hardly a description of beauty that doesn\u2019t include the combination of the three kanji characters for Snow (\u96ea, yuki), Moon (\u6708, tsuki), and Flower (\u82b1, hana). This combination even has its own name: setsu getsu ka (\u96ea\u6708\u82b1). If they are caught, villagers will take the law into their own hands and render harsh punishment.
